Practice What You Preach
We're all used to the phrases "Easier said than done," and "Saying is one thing and doing is another." I can honestly say sometimes we are all victims of this. We all could stand to help improve these things as well. I have many philosophies and strategies as it pertains to life, academics, and relationships. I think about these ideas constantly and I try to follow through with the examples i set for myself.
Doing this is easier said than done. But we have to adapt, it has to be "done." I can sit here and give a multitude of advice, which I love to do, but sometimes I fail in even my eyes. Sometimes I'm not in the communicating mood, or sometimes I'm just not sure about how to approach an issue. You have to be honest with yourself. There's nothing wrong with falling short, but have the wisdom to know that you are falling short. The right thing to do is to take steps to correct.
None of us are perfect, and we never will be, but we have to remain cognizant of following through with guidelines we set for ourselves. Whether it be with a companion, or it be with your goals. You have to remind yourself of what you have been promising, and use that as an affirmation to yourself. Your pride has to be your incentive, you don't want to let yourself down so see to it that you don't. Of course not letting yourself down can be easier said than done as well. But who cares! You have to have a lust for life and an insatiable appetite to win in any game you play, whether it's school, work, or your love life. When you practice what you preach it says much for your integrity and character and with that it build trust and admiration. With that being said let's all strive to get better everyday, not withstanding a few bumps in the road along the way. We can make it happen...."Practice What You Preach."
beautifully written. sometimes i succumb to the act of practicing what i preach, because we all are a little bit biased. like for instance, i claim im not ghetto and then i go on and on about whats wrong with acting ghetto, but then i find myself actually "being ghetto". so as far as practicing what i preach, i need to work on that alot sooner. lol
ReplyDeletebut i guess it just comes with human nature to have a biased state of mind especially when it comes to certain things, and especially when some people are more easily influenced than others to change their minds. did i just go too deep about this topic?
lol not at all i agree, they say human beings are creatures of habit.
