Be Selfish
I'm a very huge advocate of positive reinforcement and high self esteem. I am more than aware of the challenges that threaten both things, but challenges threaten everything in life. There's always a way around challenges, there's always a way to help a problem, but you have to want to seek it. They say "knock and the door shall be opened to you, seek and you shall find," well you have to knock first right?
In this life we have to do what's right for us, in every respect. We have to be right with ourselves before we're right with anyone else. Truth be told if we are not right with ourselves we will NEVER be right with anyone else. It's time we become selfish, time we look out for our happiness and time we start being the people we deserve to be. We have to improve ourselves if we think we need improvement, none of us are perfect so why beat yourself up about it?
No need to settle anymore, take control of what and who you want. To be selfish in the sense of improving yourself and taking control of your situations is probably the only time being selfish would be permissive. You cannot expect to not have your life in order and continue to be happy, as a matter of fact if you're life isn't in order then it's quite the contrary. Be comfortable in the fact that you have an opportunity to get better. Stop thinking you always need a man, or woman, or relationship to feel complete. Truth is more times than not, if you're really unhappy sometimes the relationship isn't even the problem. Look at yourself, your mindset, and your situation and ask yourself "Do I have bigger fish to fry?" Because if you do, and if you have problems with your own self then maybe that's the most important thing right now.
Ladies and gentlemen there is nothing wrong with making yourself a priority in these regards, actually it's quite admirable and you would surely be respected for it. I promise unequivocally that if you start being "selfish" you will have no choice but to become happier. Of course this is just my take but I'm just looking for all of us to become better people for us, and our partners, y'all be well.
